Who is marla sokoloff dating
Born and raised in San Francisco, Marla Sokoloff moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and enrolled in the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, where she studied theater and music. She won numerous awards and accolades for her singing, performing the national anthem at such high profile events as the Oakland A's baseball games and for the USO.
Among her moderate success as an actress, Sokoloff also proved her talents as a musician in 2006 when she released her solo album Grateful.
She revisited the experience in 2015 during her interview with saying, “I was attached to a TV show that had a music component through Maverick records, so I got a record deal. I was left with all of these great songs so I made the choice to release them on my own.
I played a bunch of shows and wanted to pursue music as a career for a while, but I took the rejection so much more personally than I ever have with acting. So I decided to keep music as my own special thing.” Beyond acting and singing, Sokoloff’s personal life has flourished over the years after ending her five-year relationship with James Franco in 2004 after meeting on the set of Whatever It Takes in 1999.
Although she stayed fairly busy on the silver screen, she never found true A-lister status after achieving only moderate success in films like Love on the Side, Sugar & Spice, The Tollbooth, The Climb, Whatever It Takes and Dude, Where’s My Car?
Fortunately, Sokoloff’s luck changed in 2008 when she was slotted to appear in the romantic comedy Play the Game starring Andy Griffith, Doris Roberts and Liz Sheridan.
Although the role was a dream come true for Sokoloff, it didn’t bring her the fame she imagined—at least not back home at school.
